Lingua Loca - Migratory Flight - Visual Arts Exhibition 2008
LINGUA LOCA is a visual arts exhibition exploring multi-cultural identity in Regional Australia.
LINGUA LOCA is a community cultural development initiative for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) artists and artists working with a multicultural focus, from the Illawarra Region. This year Lingua Loca is proud to be part of the Viva la Gong Festival through generous funding from the Cultural services small grants 2008 round of Wollongong city Council
Lingua Loca Exhibition is an opportunity for professional and emerging artists to develop a visual dialogue embracing personal journeys.
This years exhibition theme: ‘MIGRATORY FLIGHT’ is in keeping with the Viva la Gong Festival.
MIGRATORY FLIGHT can be seen broadly in many ways... flight from country, flying, flight of fancy etc. Artists can use a wide range of visual arts media such as: painting, drawing, film, textiles, ceramics, photography, multimedia, mosaics, soundscapes, sculpture etc... Please do not feel restricted in your choice of media, but do keep in mind that the space is inside and will be shared with a group of artists.
LINGUA LOCA will be held at Project Contemporary Artspace, 255 Keira Street Wollongong, showing from Wednesday 1st of October - Sunday 12th October 2008
This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate cultural diversity in the Illawarra.
